Worth knowing before you pay
Short answers, with a link to the long version when there is one.
Money
What if I change my mind?
Before we start, you get a full refund. We start when you send your brief, or 5 business days after payment if you haven't, whichever is first. After we've started but before first concepts, we keep 25% for work done. After first concepts, payments are non-refundable, though we'll fix errors on our side.
How much is an extra round?
$199 per extra revision round, bought as its own item in the cart.
Is tax added?
Probably, yes. Prices are listed before tax. Applicable New Mexico gross receipts tax or other sales tax is worked out from your billing address and shown on the payment page before you pay.
What will I pay each month?
To us, nothing. We take one payment per order, no subscription. For a website, the platform (Squarespace, or hosting if you choose WordPress), your domain name and any plugins are separate and are yours. We don't print a number here because vendors change their prices.
Work
What counts as a revision round?
One consolidated set of changes, sent in one message or document, applied to the concept you chose. Starting over, adding deliverables or pages, and changes after final approval are not a round.
How long does each product take?
Usual timelines, in business days after we get your brief: extra page 3, social kit 5, print set 5, logo refresh 7, brand guidelines 10, logo design 10 to 15, landing page 15, brand kit 20, website 20 to 25, starter bundle 35, full bundle 45. The clock pauses while we wait for your feedback.
Can I rush it?
No rush option right now. If you have a hard date, write to us before you buy and we'll say honestly whether it fits.
Do you write the copy?
No. Copywriting isn't included in any product. We design around the words you give us, and we can tell you where text needs to be shorter. If you want a writer, hire one before the build starts.
Photos and stock images?
We don't take photographs. If your project uses stock images, the licenses are separate and we list them in your handover. Send your own photos if you have them.
Fonts and licenses?
We use fonts with licenses that suit your use and list each one in the handover note. If a font needs a paid license, it's yours to buy. Many of our samples use free Google Fonts, which cost nothing.
Do you use AI?
We don't use generative AI to make your final logo or brand marks.
Websites
Which platform is my website built on?
Squarespace by default, or WordPress on your own hosting. You choose in the project brief after you pay. Either way the accounts are registered to you.
Can I edit it myself?
Yes. That's the point of building on a platform you control. We hand over the site and can point you to the platform's own help. Ongoing edits, maintenance and SEO aren't included.
Rules
Who owns the files?
You do, once paid in full. We assign you the copyright in the final approved designs. Fonts, stock and plugins keep their own licenses, and unused concepts and our own tools stay ours.
Can you guarantee my logo can be trademarked?
No. We can't guarantee a logo or name can be trademarked or is free of conflicts with others, and we don't do clearance searches. If it matters, ask a trademark attorney before you commit to a name.
Can I show my project, or opt out of the portfolio?
We may show finished work in our portfolio. You can opt out with a checkbox on the brief form, or tell us before we start.
